Lakpura Block Organic Coconut Sugar (250g)

A pure Sri Lankan product, our Lakpura Block Coconut Sugar is also referred as coconut palm sugar or coconut blossom sugar. This palm sugar is produced from the sap of the flower bud stem of the coconut palm, which is widely available in Sri Lanka. This block form of coconut sugar is usually used as a jaggery and is known as "pol hakuru" among the natives while it is considered an alternative for Kithul jaggery.

Block coconut sugar is delicately sweet and is almost similar to brown sugar with a small hint of caramel. The colour, flavour and sweetness can slightly vary depending on the batch, season harvested and species of coconut that has been used. Coconut sugar has become very popular in the past few years since it’s a natural sugar made from the coconut palm. The process is a two step process where the sap is collected at first and placed under heat till the water is evaporated. The end product is sugar granules that are then made into blocks.
