The park is home to some of the most extensive areas of montane cloud forests that have managed to survive along with lush grasslands and spectacular cliffs. Some of the main attractions of the park include the World's End precipice which is a sudden end that drops down about 900 meters as well as Baker's Falls. The plains are also the headwaters of three major rivers in Sri Lanka including the longest one, Mahaweli. Large herds of Sri Lankan sambar are found here, while you can easily spot many bird species too.
